Updated: Feb 10
February is the month of LOVE, in which we honor those we care about while also learning to let go of things we don't care so much about. If the word LOVE does not fit with your brand's personality, there are a plethora of other options to consider. Preparing a promotion that may involve a blog post series, sales and discounts, social media posts, sweepstakes, and other activities is essential.
In the US and Canada, February is Black History Month.
As a result, businesses have the opportunity to create content that highlights notable people of color throughout the entire month.
In February, we recommend launching social media campaigns honoring and raising awareness of black African American icons.
There is so much going on in February this year from animal holidays such as National Love Your Pet Day on the 20th to President’s Day on the 21st, a Federal Holiday! (who’s got the day off?)
Let’s take a look at some of these days–maybe you’ll find inspiration on social media, in your restaurant or store with a sale or promotion, or maybe you’ll just find a way to honor someone in your life!
2/2/22 - Groundhog Day
As we wait anxiously to see if winter will last another six weeks, we shiver in our boots. Groundhog Day, which is based on a Dutch superstition, is also closely associated with this holiday, thanks to the movie starring Bill Murray.
2/3/22 - National Women Physicians Day
This year's National Women Physicians Day will be celebrated on February 3 for the first time. The event commemorates the birthday of Elizabeth Blackwell, who was the first female medical doctor in the United States. It's a time to recognize the achievements of women doctors across the country, as well as the progress made since Blackwell's time. Nationally, there are still fewer female doctors than male doctors, but the number of female doctors is steadily increasing. For the first time in history, women accounted for more than half of all students enrolled in medical schools in 2017.
2/4/22 - World Cancer Day #WorldCancerDay
The purpose of World Cancer Day is to honor those who have overcome cancer and to provide encouragement to those who are still battling it.
On a day like this, it's important to tell the stories of people who have fought cancer bravely.
2/4/22 - National Wear Red Day
National Wear Red Day is observed on the first Friday in February (February 4). The color red is worn by everyone across the country on this day, which is designated as American Heart Month, in order to raise and spread awareness in the hopes of helping to eradicate heart disease and stroke, which affect millions of women all over the country each year. Make your way through the city wearing your brightest red — whether it's lipstick, a pair of pants, or your favorite hat — as you paint the town red.
2/5/22 - National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day
Allow yourself to indulge in your favorite treat. Before 12 o'clock. We're not going to pass judgment!
It's National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, so indulge! Surprisingly, this holiday was created in New York City during the middle of the winter season. Ice cream day was established in the 1960s (clearly because it is an innovative concept), and it continues to serve as evidence that you can enjoy ice cream at any time of the year, at any time of the day, and on any occasion. On the first Saturday in February, go ahead and indulge in your favorite sweet treat.
2/7/22 - National Send a Card to a Friend Day #SendACardToAFriendDay
National Send a Card to a Friend Day is all about showing our appreciation for the people in our lives and expressing our love and gratitude to them.
We believe that a digital appreciation card (email it or add it to your signature for that day!) can help you show your customers and employees how much you appreciate their support in terms of creating content for that day.
2/9/22 - National Pizza Day #NationalPizzaDay
National Pizza Day is nothing more than a celebration of one of the world's most delectable foods, and it is not to be taken too seriously.
Consider hosting a special pizza-themed event that you can promote on your social media channels. You could also hold a pizza photo contest that participants can enter by using the hashtag #NationalPizzaDay.
2/10/22 - National Umbrella Day
Umbrellas have been a part of many cultures since ancient times, and their history is one that should be remembered.
It was once said by Dolly Parton that if you want to see the rainbow, you'll have to put up with the rain first. Despite the fact that she didn't say anything about how to deal with the rain, for generations, the umbrella has been the preferred method of dealing with it. As a result, we celebrate National Umbrella Day on February 10th!
2/11/22 - Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day
Is it possible that you're crying over a spilled glass of milk without even realizing it?
You're not alone in thinking that a day set aside on the calendar to avoid crying over spilled milk is a ridiculous idea... Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day is observed on February 11 every year, and it's right there on our calendar. Are you perplexed as to who, aside from small children, would cry over a spilled glass of milk?
I’ve cried over it before, I’m sure ;)
2/13/22 - Super Bowl Sunday
I’m no sports fan, but Google tells me that the first Sunday in February marks the beginning of the official start of the NFL season in the United States.
At the culmination of 17 hard-fought games spanning 18 weeks, the NFL's two best football teams battle it out for the world championship in the most watched television event in the United States.
However, over the course of 51 years, the Super Bowl has evolved into something much more than a football championship game. Every year, nearly one-third of Americans look forward to it for a variety of reasons: the spicy chicken wings, hearty chili, ice cold beer, rowdy friends, high-budget commercials, spectacular halftime show, and, last but certainly not least, the football game. To celebrate Super Bowl Sunday, crack open a cold beer, settle down on the couch, and turn on the tele.
Here’s a fun fact: Did you know the game was originally known as the ‘AFL-NFL World Championship Game’? Me neither.
2/14/22 - Valentine's Day #ValentinesDay
Valentine's Day provides businesses with the opportunity to celebrate unconditional love and, in general, spread love vibes. This is especially true for those in a romantic relationship, as well as anyone who enjoys hearts and wearing red.
Show your appreciation for this day of love by posting a #ValentinesDay post and using a special promo code.
2/15/22 - Family Day #FamilyDay
Family Day, also known as the International Day of Families, is a day set aside to honor and celebrate families all over the world.
On the 15th of February, we recommend that you create content that can be enjoyed by all members of the household.
For example, you might want to develop a checklist that all families can use when participating in indoor or outdoor activities together. Whatever suggestions you have for your fans, customers, followers–create content that emphasizes the importance of loving and being loved.
2/17/22 - Random Acts of Kindness Day #RandomActsOfKindnessDay
This one-of-a-kind day is an excellent opportunity to do something nice for people you know as well as those you don't know.
Share a smile with someone who appears to be in desperate need of kindness, and spread love and light on social media by posting extra-kind content that will encourage anyone to be kind to others.

2/20/22 - Love Your Pet Day #LoveYourPetDay
Pet owners clearly do not require a national holiday to remind them of the importance of their animals.
However, Love Your Pet Day provides another wonderful opportunity for people to share beautiful photographs of their pets with the rest of the world.
It would behoove you to create adorable pet-related content for your customers and encourage them to share beautiful photographs of their adorable pets with your organization. Ask your followers to post their favorite #dogmom or #dogdaddy pics!
2/21/22 - President’s Day
The third Monday in February is designated as a federal holiday in the United States in honor of President George Washington, whose birthday is celebrated on this day. In honor of George Washington, who was born on February 22, it is a day to honor all American presidents (past and current).
What are some ways small businesses owners can creatively celebrate President's Day you ask? Here are 7 ideas:
1. Presidents Day deals might help remove unsold stock.
Now that the season is winding down, you need space for your spring purchases. So, conduct a deal to attract customers—it will assist in selling unsold items and generate curiosity in your new arrivals.
2. Offer a special drink or meal.
If you own a bar or restaurant, red, white, and blue spaghetti or a unique cocktail would work. Use social media to promote your one-day special.
3. Remember George Washington's famous cherry tree hack.
Hold a sale of cherry-themed items. For example, a home goods or clothing business could discount cherry-themed items. For cherry lovers, a spa may provide cherry-scented pedicures and face treatments.
4. Host a beard contest in Lincoln's honor.
To choose the winner, ask consumers to post images of their beards on your social media platforms. Create charming paper beards for a picture op with your kids by providing paper, crayons, and thread.
5. Distribute patriotic promotional items.
Ensure they bear your company's name and URL. Also, buy promotional items created in the USA and promote that in your gift.
6. Alternatively, extend the holiday.
Start your Presidents Day sales early and run them through the weekend.
7. Include a reason.
An international non-profit organization, Amnesty International, aids the families of military personnel who are stationed abroad. If you want your event to go viral, you need to get the word out early.
2/22/22 - National Margarita Day
You can't go wrong whether you're up, on ice, or on the rocks! Well, you can, but your Margarita can’t!
Every year on February 22nd, we gather to honor our favorite festive drink, the Margarita. Mexico's 1938 invention of the triple sec, tequila, and lime margarita is widely considered as the national drink of partying. On National Margarita Day, when the refreshing drink is celebrated, it's always 5 o'clock somewhere. Grab a shaker, a frozen margarita machine, or order a margarita from your favorite neighborhood bar. Salud!
2/24/22 - National Chili Day
When the chili is served, everyone gathers around the table to eat it.
On February 24, we celebrate National Chili Day, a day dedicated to honoring the iconic meal that can simultaneously bring people together and tear them apart. Chili is the ultimate crowd-pleaser and may be made ahead of time. Secret ingredients are never uttered loudly enough to be heard above the buzz of conversation. And the arguments over whether or not chili should contain beans are heated! But it's all part of what makes chili so special.
2/26/22 - Letter to an Elder Day
To express devotion, the art of letter writing is cherished!
On February 26th, write a handwritten note of affection to an elder in your life. Love For Our Elders, a non-profit group dedicated to eradicating senior loneliness through compassion, founded National Letter to an Elder Day.
Encourage your patients, colleagues, or followers to cherish their Elder on this day!
2/27/22 - No Brainer Day
Relax your thoughts and avoid overthinking. Every year on February 27th is No Brainer Day. In the USA. Encourage people to keep things simple and to handle conflicts peacefully. If a task requires thought, research, or analysis, it can be completed today–whoot! That can wait. It's an easy choice!
2/28/22 - Rare Disease Day
The 28th of February is Rare Disease Day. With so much going on in the world, it's tempting to put off crucial things like health. So we mark our calendars every year on the last day of February to raise funds and awareness for rare diseases. Rare diseases affect one in every twenty persons, and only a small percentage of those affected receive a cure. Rare Disease Day aims to raise public awareness of rare diseases while urging researchers and politicians to meet the needs of people affected.
